Rosie Jack by Silver-DT Rosie Jack by Silver-DT
So I was thinking about Lauren Faust's response to Ms. Magazine, and came up with this.

Apple Jack was the only pony doing any kind of physical work, until the most recent episodes anyway.

I truly wish I did. Unfortunately, I was drawing this on an old laptop that couldn't support very high resolutions without slowing down to a crawl. Sorry! :(

I'm glad this poster has motivated you to do something. Too bad it's short on the details of what to do, besides "it"... heh

Well, one good thing could be giving SOPA and PIPA the hoof. If only I had waited a month, the poster could have been usefully topical! heh

It seems that the call has been heeded, and that the Magic of Friendship (read: angry hollering by the internet), has temporarily defeated SOPA. heh

first off intersting read on the link.

on to the picture i have seen the original (but did not really study it) so it looks very true to the original pice.

love details like "winter wrap up co-ordinating (i whould have done "-stion" but if that a trow back to the oringinal i take it back) committee" and the fact that AJs hair ribbion is the same couler sceam as the bandana.

and the cutie mark on the collar.

love the shadeing and nice hair detail.

and finaly love the captured "strong girl" (or what ever you call it) essance.

When typing a comment, please don't ignore the red squiggly lines that appear under your words; you'll hurt their feelings deeply. :)

I think the kind of "research" conducted by MS. Magazine (in that specific case) really falls under the fallacy of confirmation bias and the practical application of cherry picking. :\

We have a poster like this in our English class. :''D ... or not a pony poster, but a one like the original. XD
But this is awesome! 8D Love it! And must say that this is done pretty damn well.

I imagine that once the ponies permeate general culture a bit more, we'll start seeing real motivational posters with the ponies on them. This may not necessarily be a good thing though. I remember a large number of sad-looking Garfield posters, with tepid taglines like "Read a Book", covering the walls of my former high school. 0_0

I really like how the colors have been blended with soft shadows. The similarity to the original painting style is a good textural match-up to AppleJack's personality. The movement of her cutie mark is quite clever too.

The original MS. article was a bit ridiculous in having performed grade school-level research while forming their opinions. It seems everyone is capable of knee jerk responses.

Thanks for taking a look! :)
